There will be TWO Voters Meetings this month! The first is Sunday, May 6, for extending a call for a permanent, full-time pastor. The next will be Sunday, May 20, for Annual Board and Officer elections. Both of these meetings are very important. Mark your calendar! See you there!!

Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School begins Sunday, September 11, following the 9:00 a.m. service. Christine Whitney will be leading the Sunday School ministry. Assisting her will be teachers Tammy Clark, Andy Allerman, and Suzanne Falvey. If you would like to join this ministry, contact Christine at 281-5654 or Pastor Byars at 281-2430.

New Adult Bible Study – Come join us each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as Pastor Mueller leads a thought-provoking video series examining various “world views” (viewpoints) currently in the minds of many in our country and community. Topics such as Truth, Relativism, Science, God, etc., are presented by Dr. Del Tackett of Focus on the Family. ALL adults and teens are invited to join us; by examining truth (and other people’s ideas about truth), we may better communicate with those whom we are trying to reach with the Good News!

December 5, 2011 – School is closed for today. Please be safe and stay warm.
December 6, 2011 – School is closed again today. Please be safe – Icy conditions out there.
December 7, 2011 – All classes to begin at 10:00 a.m. No before care. Please use your own discretion when bringing your students to school and be safe.
December 13, 2011 – School is on a 1-hour delay. Please use caution and start out a bit earlier to be safe.
December 14, 2011 – School starting at 11:00 a.m. Please be extremely careful, roads are rough today.

Missions

WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS – We continue to support the mission work of Tim and Martha Matzke through Wycliffe Bible Translators. Around the globe, language groups are receiving God’s Word for the first time because of the dedication of Wycliffe Bible Translators. They are helping people have greater access to God’s Word through literacy and communications. Members of Wycliffe depend on the generosity of God’s people to meet their financial needs. For more information you can check out the Matzke website – www.matzkemission.com, or write them at 514 Longworth Boulevard, Duncanville, Texas 75116. There is also information located on the shelf at the church entrance.

TIJERAS FOOD PANTRY – We are always collecting non-perishable food items for the Tijeras Food Pantry. There is a box for donations located in the church entry area near the coat rack.

CARE NET – We support Care Net with a Baby Bottle Campaign. There are empty baby bottles in the foyer that you are encouraged to take, fill up with extra coins and bring back to the church.

PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN SCHOOL – Our school is always accepting donations of aluminum cans, empty printer and ink cartridges along with box tops (look for the Box Tops for Education logo). Drop points can be found at both the church and school.

THE LUTHERAN HISPANIC MISSIONARY INSTITUTE – This organization trains people to plant new missions among Hispanics.

THE LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF -The Lutheran World Relief is still supporting the Haiti tragedy along with helping people through the tragedies in our own country.

Women’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study
The group meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and welcomes both men and women. The current topic of discussion is Luther’s Small Catechism. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast,which is a men’s Bible study hour with breakfast, is held on the third Saturday of each month at 7:00 am. All men are invited and encouraged to come and participate in the morning topic.
